ConneXions

"Connect with God, Connect with People, Connect with your Purpose"

Here at Church Without Limits real relationships matter to us - we want to see every person grow in a real relationship with God but we also recognize that we all need real relationships with one another.

When we first started we would hold weekend services, but we quickly began to see some gaps. The meetings were great but as we grew we found that many people were having a hard time connecting. They would come to service, worship and go home - but never really get to know anyone. They would have questions but wouldn't know where or whom to ask them. Some would go through a difficult time where they needed prayer and support but no one would know about it. They could miss several weeks and no one would even notice because it was getting impossible to keep track of everybody.

We began to wrestle with this dynamic, and asked the Lord to show us what to do. Through several different sources He began to teach us about the importance of not just meeting in a large group setting (weekend service) but also in a small group setting. The scriptures talk about this in many places including Acts 2:46 where the early church was "continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house…". The Apostle Paul reminded the Ephesian Elders in Acts 20:20 that he had "taught…publicly, and from house to house".

We came to the understanding that God had not only called us to gather in large services but also from 'house to house' in what we call ConneXions. ConneXions are groups of 4-15 men, women or youth who meet weekly in homes, coffee shops and other venues throughout the Greater Toronto Area to study the Scriptures, pray, build friendship and go deeper in God together. Each ConneXion has a "servant-leader" who has a heart for the things of God and has been trained to lead the weekly meeting. These groups are designed to facilitate real relationships, real prayer, real study of the scriptures and real spiritual growth.

We don't see these ConneXions as just one part of what we do, they are at the very centre of it! We have come to believe that "if you miss ConneXions you miss half of church for that week" - they are just that important!

Our goal is that every person who calls Church Without Limits home will be part of a ConneXion. If CWL is your church home we encourage you to check one out and "connect with God, connect with people, connect with your purpose!" They meet at various times and locations all throughout the Greater Toronto Area - we are sure there is one that will work for you (if there isn't, call us at the Church office and we will see what we can do - we may be able to start one in your area or at a time that works for you!).
